I think having pitchers perform odd jobs around the ballpark during their off days is a great idea. I would love to hear Nichols' response to the injuries and successive surgeries pitchers undergo today. On another note, both the Mets and Yankees would kill for the 30,000 legitimate tickets collected each day at the Polo Grounds in the 1890s.
